About

Shin High Terror is the online portfolio of illustrator, humanitarian and geek, Jos.  In the portfolio you will find all the second and third year work Jos completed as part of an illustration degree between 2002 and 2006, commissioned artwork,  personal drawings, and painted miniatures.  Jos uses the blog to post updates on ongoing projects, unfinished work, and documenting his misadventures.

Jos graduated with a first class BA (hons.) in Illustration in the summer of 2006 and immediately fled the country.  He eventually found work as an ad hoc exhibition designer working in museums in Sweden and North East England, but finding life among the dead unsettling. He returned to full time education in 2009 to study Disaster Management and Sustainable Development at The University of Northumbria, which he passed with distinction.  Since 2011 he has pursued a career in humanitarian medical logistics and supply chain, working with international non-government organisations in the Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Liberia, Rwanda, South Sudan, Turkey and the UK.

Physically, Jos closely resembles a viking, a bear, or a viking bear.  He has a brown belt in judo but doesn’t live very near a club anymore, and enjoys hiking and swimming, and pub quizzes.  A couple of years ago Jos took some metalwork classes and made two of his own axes.  Jos is a Member of the UK’s Chartered  Institute of Logistcs and Transport and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, and studies Public Health part time by distance learning at the Univeristy of Manchester.  In what little remains of his free time he continues to draw and paint as a hobby.
